Staff Recognition and Awards Program

Objective

The College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) Staff Recognition and Awards Program is designed with the purpose of honoring and showcasing the exemplary efforts of its staff, thereby reinforcing a culture of excellence and appreciation within the organization.

Nominations may be made by any CONHI employee: colleague, peer, supervisor, or self-nominated. The annual deadline for submission of nominations is the first Monday of November by 5:00pm. Nominator must include clear evidence of excellence in the category for which the employee is being nominated, including specific examples of how the staff member has met or exceeded the criteria. The categories are attached for your review.

Eligibility

To be eligible for an award, a staff employee must:

  • Be full-time, benefits-eligible, and non-faculty.
  • May not have received any formal disciplinary action or a performance improvement plan within the last year (November to October), verified by the Associate Dean of Administrative Affairs.
  • Be in good standing on the last performance evaluation (meets expectations or higher), verified by the Associate Dean of Administrative Affairs.
  • Be employed by UTA for at least one year unless being considered as a nominee in The Rising Star category described below.
  • Display characteristics that are aligned with CONHI’s vision and mission.
  • Demonstrate characteristics that illustrate UTA’s Principles of Community.
  • Faculty and members of the Dean’s Council are not eligible to participate.

  • Dean’s Office (Business Services-Operations, Marketing & Communications, OIT, Center for Rural Health)

The Inspirer

  • Participates in the advancement of CONHI’s mission and vision.
  • Exhibits respect and professionalism.
  • Volunteers to participate on CONHI and UTA committees.
  • Demonstrates dedication and a positive work attitude.
  • Makes important and significant contributions to their work area.

The Helping Hand

  • Makes a significant difference in the work environment through guidance of students and/or employees and helps others unlock their true potential.
  • Helps others achieve amazing results.
  • Proactively suggests improvements to work areas and processes.
  • Contributes to team assistance through training, mentoring, and collaboration.

Customer Success Champion

  • Demonstrates commitment to CONHI’s and the University's mission and core values.
  • Goes beyond the call of duty to assist customers (students, staff, and faculty).
  • Displays professionalism, patience and a “people-first” attitude in communications.
  • Aids customers to resolve issues and/or achieve the best outcome.
  • Displays a pleasant attitude, provides knowledgeable and resourceful information.

The Rising Star

  • Makes substantial contributions within the first three months of employment.
  • Has quickly grasped skills. Takes initiative and is a fast learner.
  • Shows potential in learning and adapting to the CONHI culture.
  • Exhibits respect and professionalism.
  • Leads by example.
  • Demonstrates eagerness, a pleasant attitude and works well with other team members.

The Innovator

  • Reaches out across divisions and differences of all types to collaborate and solve problems.
  • Portrays characteristics of inclusion by acting as an agent of change internally and externally to CONHI.
  • Contributes impactful contributions to their department, resulting in more efficiency, better service, cost savings or successful crisis management.
  • Suggest and promotes new ideas, integrates change, and innovative solutions to problems.

Award Details

The award for winners would include:

  • A $125 gift card paid via payroll.
  • A congratulatory letter and framed certificate signed by the Dean.
  • Monitors in each building (PKH 5th floor breakroom, MAC, Smart Hospital, SEIR) will be used to recognize employees.
  • Awardees will be featured in the December newsletter and on the CONHI website each December.
