The University of Texas at Arlington is most concerned with the welfare and safety of its students and employees during this most difficult time.
One of UTA’s priorities is to ensure its employees continue being paid and have continued access to the many benefits that are available to employees. As expected, many questions are surfacing and as this event further unfolds to include potential parking permit reimbursement for employees. Please understand, the university has certain fixed costs that must be met even during these uncertain times to include debt service on parking facilities and personnel costs. As a reminder, parking is an auxiliary enterprise and receives no other funding to sustain operations.
At this time, while taking it into advisement, the decision has been made not to reimburse employees for their parking permits. As COVID-19 impacts continue to play out, we may elect to give further consideration to this matter.
