TRAVEL TO ISRAEL, THE WEST BANK, THE GAZA STRIP, JORDAN, AND LEBANON

Due to the ongoing situation involving Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip, travel to those countries has been suspended until further notice.

UT System medical and security assistance provider, On Call International, initiated security evacuation coverage in Israel effective October 9, 2023. This means travelers arriving in Israel, the West Bank, or Gaza will not benefit from security evacuation insurance coverage.

If a mission-critical trip is needed for business or research that warrants an exception to this suspension the following process is required:

  • Travel must be approved or reapproved by UTA’s International Oversight Committee (IOC) as well as the President.  If the exception is granted, the president must provide notice to the Executive Vice Chancellor (EVC) for Health Affairs or Academic Affairs as appropriate, and the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer of UT System.

While travel is not suspended to Jordan and Lebanon, those countries will require elevated approval by the President.
