The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has issued a Data Management and Sharing (DMS) policy that is effective on January 25, 2023. This Policy applies to research funded or conducted by NIH that results in the generation of scientific data.

Under this Policy, the NIH requires that a Data Management and Sharing Plan (DMS Plan) be submitted with the grant application.
