Offer Letter

Sign and return the offer letter to indicate your agreement to the terms of employment. The signed offer letter should be returned to your hiring department by the date stated in the letter.

Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9)

The Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9) must be verified within the first 3 days of employment. This is a two-step process. The first step is to enter your personal and citizenship information on the I-9 form. This first step should be completed at least a week prior to your first day. The second step requires you to present original documents from the List of Acceptable Documents to prove your identity and authorization to work in the United States. You will schedule an appointment to bring the original documents to the Office of Talent, Culture, and Engagement, J.D. Wetsel Building, Room 200 (view map), within three days of your first day of employment. For more information, reference the following documents:

Criminal Background Check

You should have received an email from UniversityofTexasArlington@screening.services with the subject line, Background Check Request. In this email you are redirected to a secure link managed by our partner, CompuFACT, to enter personal information required to conduct the background check. If you have not received the email or completed the background check request, please contact your hiring department.

Gather Required Documents for I-9 Verification and For New Employee Checklist

At the appointment with the Office of Talent, Culture, and Engagement, you will be completing the I-9 verification and receive instructions on how to complete your New Employee Checklist. You will bring Acceptable documents for I-9 verification when you come to the Office of Talent, Culture, and Engagement. All verification documents must be original and unexpired.

Other documents that you will as a new employee:

  • Employee NetID and Employee ID Number (sent to you via email)
  • Void check or bank verification document for direct deposit
  • Benefits eligible employees need the required Documentation for Eligible Dependents to be added to benefit packages
  • Employees with prior year(s) service at either a State Higher Education Institution or State Government Agency (not Federal) need to have the name of the institution/agency where they previously worked and the approximate dates of service.

Faculty Credentials

New employees appointed to a faculty position need to send an official transcript with your highest degree award to your hiring department to have certification of teaching credentials verified. Contact your hiring supervisor for details on where to send the transcript.
