Academic Program Approval Processes
The Academic Program Approval Processes project, part of the eLearning TM program, aims to clarify and streamline the process of proposing a new academic program. Faculty will have the information needed to launch high-demand programs efficiently and with transparency throughout the review and approval processes.
Early discussions in the eLearning program revealed that the processes to propose a new academic program were unclear to colleges. Further, the review and approval steps were not understood for different program types and under various conditions. Finally, the time to bring a new program to launch was perceived as too long. This project aims to streamline and bring transparency to the processes through:
- The development of a course on proposing new academic programs of various types
- A single proposal form for all new academic program types
- Electronic workflow of new program proposals
For UTA faculty and staff resources, visit the Academic Panning and Policy webpage. You can also access the process chart and the new academic program proposal form.
