Graduate Certificate - Instructional and Learning Design Technology

College of Education

The Instructional and Learning Design Technology Certificate, part of the eLearning TM program, is intended for educators in the K-12, Higher Education, and Workplace Training sectors and will provide both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the design, development, and integration of education programs supported by technology. Students will learn how to create engaging, differentiated, inclusive, and culturally responsive online and hybrid learning solutions that are contextual and customizable for a variety of student populations.

 

 

Unconditional Admission Criteria

  1. Earned Bachelor’s degree
  2. Undergraduate transcripts with at least a 3.0 GPA during the last 60 hours or at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The higher of these GPAs will be used for admission purposes. A 3.0 GPA in the last 9 hours of graduate coursework may be considered in place of the undergraduate GPA.
  3. Proof of two or more years of relevant experience (for example, HR leader, principal, training manager, instructional designer) through submission of professional resume
  4. Statement of interest (no more than 500 words)

Probationary Admission Criteria

  1. Earned Bachelor’s degree
  2. Undergraduate transcripts with at least a 2.75 GPA during the last 60 hours or at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA. The higher of these GPAs will be used for admission purposes. A 2.75 GPA in the last 9 hours of graduate coursework may be considered in place of the undergraduate GPA.
  3. Applicants who have less than 2 years of relevant experience and have a GPA of at least 2.75 must submit a professional resume and admission may be considered
  4. Statement of interest (no more than 500 words)
  5. The faculty admissions committee may require additional documents (e.g., GRE scores) for consideration.
  6. Students granted probationary admission must earn a B or better in the first 6 credit hours of graduate coursework (ILDT 5301, ILDT 5303 and first elective course completed) in the College of Education program to be converted from probationary to unconditional admission.

Completion Requirements

Students must complete the required 12 SCH. A GPA of 3.0 is required to complete the program. The program completion will be posted to the transcript at the completion of the required 12 SCH. Time limit for completion of a Graduate Certificate is 6 years.
