Welcome to the Animal Subjects Research home page for the Office of Research Administration at The University of Texas at Arlington. The involvement of animals in research and teaching is a privilege that requires unique professional and moral obligations. The University of Texas at Arlington is dedicated to supporting the education and research mission of the University while maintaining compliance with Federal and State animal care principles, guidelines, regulations, and best practices. The University of Texas at Arlington’s Animal Care Program encompasses all activities conducted by the University involving live vertebrates, including research, testing, and education.
At UT Arlington, Animal Subject Research is supported by four main parties: Research Administration, The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), the Attending Veterinarian and Animal Care Staff, and members of the University community who work with animals.
UT Arlington is accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).
